What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based facial filler used to reduce wrinkles, add volume and hydrate the skin. It is a non-surgical procedure that works by replenishing lost hyaluronic acid in the skin, which helps to improve its elasticity and reduce signs of aging, such as wrinkles, lines, and folds. These injectable fillers can also be used for lip and cheek augmentation and to fill hollow facial areas caused by age or weight loss.

The product comes in various formulations designed for different areas of the face, allowing our skin care specialists to customize treatment for your individual needs. Juvederm injections typically take about 30 minutes per session, depending on the area being treated, with noticeable results occurring immediately following treatment. Results from Juvederm injections last up to one year or longer depending on individual factors such as age and lifestyle habits.

Why Should You Consider Juvederm Fillers?

Juvederm fillers are one of the most popular dermal fillers used in cosmetic treatments today. As a non-surgical option, these types of facial injections are used to:
  • to treat wrinkles, lines, and folds
  • plump lips
  • reduce the appearance of undereye hollows
  • combat loss of jawline definition
  • smooth out forehead wrinkles
  • create a more contoured chin
  • fill out hollowed cheeks or sunken temples
The effects of Juvederm fillers are immediately visible, typically lasting between six months and two years.

Juvederm XC

Juvederm XC is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler used to treat wrinkles, lines, and folds in the face. It works by helping to add volume and hydration to the skin, which can give a more youthful appearance. Juvederm XC is designed with lidocaine for improved comfort during treatment. The effects of Juvederm XC typically last around six months after treatment, depending on the area being treated and other factors such as lifestyle.

Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus

Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus are smooth, gel-like hyaluronic aciddermal fillers used to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and skin folds. Juvederm Ultra is a thinner version of the gel used for more superficial lines, such as those around the mouth, while Juvederm Ultra Plus is a thicker injectable gel treatment designed to provide more volume in areas like the cheeks or chin. Juvederm Ultra can last up to 6 months, while Juvederm Ultra Plus has been known to last up to 12 months with proper maintenance.

Juvederm Voluma XC

Juvederm Voluma XC is a dermal filler specifically designed to add volume to the cheeks. The gel-like consistency of Juvederm Voluma XC helps it blend in with other facial tissues, creating a more natural look and feel. Many people report lasting results up to two years after application. In addition, Juvederm Voluma XC can also be used for lip augmentation and contouring of the chin or jawline for better balance and harmony among facial features.

Juvederma Volbella XC

Juvederm Volbella XC is an injectable gel filler used to add volume to the lips and soften the appearance of lines around the mouth. Volbella XC has been formulated with patented Vycross technology, which results in a smoother gel for more natural-looking results. The product also contains lidocaine, an anesthetic that helps reduce discomfort during treatment. This filler can last up to one year, depending on how quickly your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid.

What Are the Common Side Effects to Expect?

The most common side effects of Juvederm typically begin within 24 hours after injection and last up to 14 days. These can include swelling, redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration at the injection sites.

When considering Juvederm fillers, it is important to consult with our experienced medical professionals, who can accurately assess your individual needs and recommend the best possible treatment plan.

During the consultation, we will ask questions about your desired results, any medical conditions you may have, as well as potential skin injuries and allergies to evaluate the risk of inflammation.

Good to Know

Juvederm fillers are easily reversible and can be combined with other cosmetic treatments, such as Botox and Dysport, to achieve the best possible results. It is important to remember that Juvederm fillers are not permanent and must be repeated to maintain the desired results.
