During your consultation, we’ll help determine if this is the best treatment to reach your goals. Ideally, patients will have a Body Mass Index (BMI) below 30 with a Nurnberger-Muller Cellulite Classification Stage of 1 or 2. Roughly, at stage 1, dimpled skin will appear when pressure is applied. At stage 2, the dimply skin will appear when standing, but won’t be visible lying down. The treatment will reduce the appearance of dimples. For more moderate cellulite, other treatments are recommended.
The number of recommended treatments varies depending on the patient and their goals. However, we usually recommend between 3-6 treatments to start. After the initial sessions, it’s recommended to have a follow-up every three to six months.
Velashape does not require a recovery period. After your treatment, you are free to continue with your day normally. If there are any special indications, you’ll be advised by our team.

- Don’t take blood thinners, such as aspirin, two to three days prior to the procedure.
- Remove hair from the area to be treated.
- Don’t apply creams, lotions, oils, or tanning products to the areas that will be treated.
- If the areas to be treated have undergone other procedures, you may be advised to wait before moving forward with treatment.
